Telepractice is the practice of delivering speech therapy sessions via remote access using computers. It is an excellent solution for families who are unable to attend the clinic due to distance, illness, or other extenuating circumstances. It allows therapy to be delivered online across a number of different platforms so students can continue to access services from home.
With today's technology, students engaging in Telepractice sessions can have access to:
A shared online whiteboard
All that's required is a computer and stable internet connection – in some cases, a set of headphones might help with sound quality, but most computers are equipped with in-built microphones.
With the current health crisis and the increasing number of people self-isolating, Telepractice is an excellent alternative to continue receiving speech pathology services while remaining at home. Because the health funds do not rebate telehealth sessions, we have made the decision to reduce normal session prices to off-set the lack of rebates. Telepractice sessions will be reduced by 40% for the remainder of the term as well as the
school holidays – the fee schedule will be reviewed on Monday 27th April – if we still need to offer Telepractice sessions, the discount will continue.
The fee schedule for telehealth sessions is:
60 minute session = $80
45 minute session = $65
30 minute session = $50
